GateSource HR Caribbean Division is collaborating with a strategic client to recruit an HR Officer to support their operations by ensuring seamless and effective human resources functions. This role assists the HR Lead in managing key areas such as recruitment, training, employee engagement, benefits administration, and personnel cost management.
Key Responsibilities
This position involves diverse duties, including but not limited to:
- Keeping HR files, employee records, and documentation updated and accurate in both physical and digital formats, while generating monthly HR reports for Group, Cluster, and Station levels.
- Handling employee data requests and managing the preparation of job letters, vacation records, employee communications, memos, and benefits-related documentation.
- Ensuring all HR files are complete by collecting and filing required documents monthly.
- Supporting payroll activities, including reviewing departmental inputs, responding to employee inquiries, and performing data entry.
- Preparing and verifying payroll-related data (e.g., new hires, terminations, promotions) for timely submission in compliance with payroll deadlines.
- Acting as the liaison with external benefits providers, including health insurance, disability plans, retirement programs, and Employee Assistance Programs (EAP).
- Submitting medical claims to insurance providers within 48 hours and following up with providers as necessary.
- Conducting onboarding activities such as organizing new hire orientations, issuing company ID cards, and managing airport security pass applications.
- Assisting with the recruitment process by collaborating with managers on job descriptions, coordinating with recruitment vendors, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, and maintaining the recruitment database.
- Supporting training activities by coordinating with providers, managing communication with staff, preparing materials, and updating training records.
- Coordinating employee engagement initiatives such as benefits enrollment, recognition events, company meetings, and holiday celebrations, ensuring seamless execution by managing logistics and communication.
Additional Responsibilities
- Addressing employee queries and resolving issues promptly, adhering to company policies and sound industrial relations practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Management, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- At least five years of experience in an HR role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of research and analysis methods.
- Strong understanding of local labor laws and employment practices.
- Ability to manage deadlines and adapt to a flexible work schedule.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with HRIS and payroll systems.
